The International Maritime Center
Our Story
The Oakland IMC is one of approximately 300 Seafarer's Clubs worldwide. We support the merchant mariner during their (usually) short stay in the San Francisco - Oakland Bay Area. We are an diverse group sponsored and staffed by volunteers from the Episcopal Diocese of California, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Oakland, the Sierra Pacific Lutheran Synod, the American Baptist Church and the Korean Presbyterian Church amongst others.
We are a non-profit group. Our support comes from individual and corporate donations, The International Transportation Federation, and private donations from our many friends throughout the San Francisco - Oakland Bay Area

Through out sponsors and partners we organize regular ship visits to ensure seafarers welfare and morale are high. We also work to expand maritime education and to show people how deep their connection is to the sea. If you would like to get involved check out our "get involved" page, we would love to have you onboard.

OUR TEAM
We have an excellent team composed of a diverse group of people with a passion for maritime welfare. Our organization holds both life long mariners as well as volunteers who may have only recently hiked up a ships gangway to stand on deck for the first time. please read our stories and get involved in any way you can.
